Malaysia Boleh! part II

Hrm i'm not sure who reads this ...but i'll just upload this for my own enjoyment before i forget my whole trip ^^". Prehaps one day when my memory is blur of this trip i can read this up again and relive the whole experience..i hope a flashback will happen.


Week 2
Spent in Melaka, my mum's hometown. Basically it's a historical town (world heritage apparently), lots of terrace houses, touristy spots, night markets and HAWKER FOOD :D. Also driving is extremely bad there >.>. Anyway because it was CNY week, we got to stay in the Mahkota Hotel, just opposite the mahkota & psomething shopping centre since grandmas house was full. It was a really nice hotel. The facilities were nice. (except for the washing machine ha!)..although i never got to utitlise them since i got kicked out of the pool for wearing a tshirt lol...but did go in the sauna! Didn't work properly though -.-"

During CNY had massive family dinner and also a tea ceremony :) Went to some random open house party (apparently full of msian police O_O) and witnessed (illegal?) fireworks which they lit infront of the house. Felt sorry for the car which was parked next to it though loll. Also received ang pow (hoorah!) and saw many lion dance perfomances. Also went malaysian bar hopping-ish with my cousin. Overall fun & festive week :)

Week 3
Travels between Melaka and Ipoh! In Melaka i saw this giant monitor lizard just sitting in the garden *spreads arms out wide* WAS. MASSIVE. Apparently it's always there and its normal to have giant lizards in backyards O_O...

After Melaka went to Ipoh to visit dad's side. Ipoh can be described as..hrmm retirement village. My grand aunt was the best chef there, always working hard...i think at one point we had 15 ppl staying over at once. Super chef woman! We always had kangpow chickens from the backyard. Was yum ^^ poor tasty chickens though. When we did eat out...i remember we went to this seafood restaurant my dad went as a kid. Had to drive through a jungle countryside to get it O_O haha...took about an hour. Then had to wait an hour for the food to cook afterwards! Was worth it though..had pro delicious fish and giant prawns. Giant prawns were huge (everything seems to double up in size in msia) which were meaty...but had a weird taste cause they were fresh water :S The restuarant was funny though...they had 2 shops on the opposite side of the road. The waiters had to walk across the street to deliver the beverages and food. Lucky it wasn't a busy town ^^

We also went to check out the limestone mountains. Had lots of buddhist statues inside. Was really beautiful. The low clouds kinda remind me of china scenery ^^ Saw a few wild turtles and monkeys around. Best thing about Ipoh, nice weather! Humidity = 0

Malaysia Boleh!

For those of you who don't know, I'm back from my malaysia trip!
Overall the experience was amazing ^^ Malaysia is definetely a place worth checking out for FOOD, ASIAN CULTURE, BAD ASIAN DRIVING AND SHOPPING!!!
Everything in malaysia is so convenient and the variety is incredible. Malaysian food is thumbs up to the max and there are soo many huge shopping centres you can seriously get lost. I also got taught by the best to haggle/bargain shop hahaha. Well here are some scans from my travel journal ^^ (yes i managed to keep one) I think i'll try and upload a few.

Last day in KL.
This one was from Genting, a casino/theme park in Malaysia highlands. Only an hour away from the capital and it was funnn! The pictures i drew were kinda true hahaha...especially the boat one!! It was one of those semi roller coaster ones..where it goes to the top and then zooms down and splashes you with water. 60 degree angle and it had no seatbelts, no chairs nothing accept handle bars for you to grab on O_O..so unsafe. Also visted this open shopping centre which had a disneyland figurine theme! Asian alert- there were soo many photo whores..but the figurines were really well done and of course being asian i posed with a few ^^"...Lastly i got to see the twin towers, second tallest in the world. Wow at night it really is beautiful. The architecture is amazing. From far it almost looks like a light ornament more than a building itself. Truly spectacular. I posed with it too ^^" hehe...

Things i remembered about malaysian culture. See the concept behind this is that the evil aussie sun (bowler hat and moustache indicated) has kidnapped me from my malaysian holiday. My relatives and malaysian culture friends are trying to vanquish him with their sad sad tears ...but unfortunately he has got an umbrella...genius ey? ;) Hopefully i'll be reunited with my chicken rice someday...*sigh* In the right top corner is my mum, dad and malay (burnt to toast) brother lol
