Brief 4 - Motion type
Final!
This took WAY TOO LONG.
I think i spent most of the time waiting for the previews to loads...until i realised i could change the resolution to make it go faster {doh} >,> ...also the rendering was a pain to do. Took half an hour to render..than the file turned out to be 945mb O_O..that should be a 2 hour movie not a 30 sec vector clip ==" AND then my video convetor wouldn't accept it so i had to keep compressing it with the render options ;_;
AH rant.
But yes despite all failures, quite happy how this turned out. I guess.. could've been more adventurous with the camera angles? oh dear. Surprisingly, i didn't get sick of this song though :) Ah michael buble you can never fail me ^^

Eighteen.

Images by Montygog from deviantartLately i've been really interested in retro style cartoons. Theres just something about this style i find so intriguing. The humourous character features, simple shapes and warm colours kinda gives it a designer feel to them, without being so conceptually serious ^^? if that makes sense haha..

Teenage spiderman! I might use this in my animation somehow..
(Note: was eventually traced for final frame since spiderman is very hard to draw freehand ^^")

Sixteen.
Gosh youtube is making my blog so ugly atm =.=
Well i've decided to do the spiderman theme sung by Michael Buble- he sure is eye candy ^3^ Another superhero piece i guess =D I probably look like i have a comic book fetish now ey- ah well, nothing wrong with that....right?
since my song has a jazz tempo to it- i was thinking of doing something similar to this. this is the opening for catch me if you can. wow what a great movie- i give it my ultimate thumbs up haha...but i like how the sillouettes & symphony orchestra help create a mysterious atmosphere to the opening. the typography also blends in wonderfully with the scenery.
here are a few more i found which have a similar aesthetics.
^ kiss kiss bang bang with robert downey jr ^^
^ casino royale with daniel craig! ^^
^ thank you for smoking- quite effective even though it just looks like the generic after effects tools
^ hallam foe - no idea what this movie is about but i thought the illustrative technique by david shrigley was pretty cool :)

Fourteen.
Found this one ages ago. I like how the animation, music and words are synced together..unlike those other boring floating text ones -,-
This song is kinda boring, but the patterns and colours are pretty kool ^^
Haha good choice of music for this one :)
Monotone graphic designer- nicely executed

Ooo i'm a roll here XD
Found these guys on Behance.
Alex Trochut

I love how he incorporates typography and illustration together. Funny how he uses the placedholder text ^^I wonder if i can do this sort of style for typo poster2? hrmmm
Si Scott
The shapes and movement is absolutely stunning. You really feel a sense of grace and fluidity with this design. Would be useful for my koi abstract piece.

Twelve.
For those of you who are familiar with Mary Blair, here is another concept artist for Pixar/Disney.
Lou Romano
The atmosphere and perspective he creates is wonderfully dynamic and beautiful. Feels exactly like the movie stills. Hands down, working for disney is the best job in the world ^^
Other good ones is Nate Wragg and Don Shank. I may have mentioned them before in my previous posts. I have more pixar/dreamwork artists in my bookmark but can't seem to find them hrmmm...I sound like a blog stalker -,-"

Fiddling with aftereffects.
Originally story was gonna be about a gardener/superhero cause i wanted my superhero to be a pansy macho man ;) But then it didn't really flow that well....
